January Update for CEDASS

Stu McCutcheon (Red) and the container-loading team

While the global pandemic has certainly had a huge impact on all of us, life goes on in South Sudan and the need has never been greater. The great news is we have another container packed full of supplies and food going to South Sudan in January.

The out pouring of generosity has been amazing.

Stu McCutcheon has spent the last year collecting, sorting, repairing and packing literally thousands of items. Everything from clothing, shoes, material for clothing, bicycles, tools, books, school supplies, book shelves, fencing, posts, the list goes on and on. This is a huge undertaking and we are so blessed to have Stu and his passion for South Sudan behind us.

Partnership Announcements
This year, we were very fortunate to have met with 2 great organizations and formed a partnership.

Ontario Christian Gleaners has provided us with tons of dehydrated vegetables and dried beans. This donation will provide thousands of meals to community members of Jebel Ladu. Malnutrition is the leading cause of death in South Sudan. This food will save lives!

Days for Girls also reached out. This amazing organization provides menstrual kits for school aged girls. This initiative is so incredibly important in East Africa. As young girls reach puberty, they leave school as they don't have supplies to use during menstruation. They often don't return. Days for Girls have provided CEDASS with hundreds of kits that are now on their way to the Canada School in South Sudan. Girls deserve the same opportunity to education as boys and with the generosity of Days for Girls, this is possible. Every girl. Everywhere. Period.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of CEDASS, and Stu in particular, thank you so very much.

In Other News

Stu McCutcheon just returned home from South Sudan in December and he is returning in February. Thank you, Stu, for your commitment and passion. We will update everyone upon Stu's return. Our programs and projects continue in South Sudan. This work would not be possible without the outpouring of support we continue to receive.

We are making a difference. Lives are being changed. Lives are being saved.
