December Update

Hi all, Merry Christmas and may you all have a blessed and Happy New Year!

There were many ongoing things at the school and medical clinic in the past few months, despite the fact we did not give you any updates.  The clinic continues to run very well as the medical team works on giving vaccinations, timely medical treatments and deworming. The health in this community is greatly increasing, we’ve even seen a massive decline in pregnancy in women under the age of 18; this is a huge success. With hopes that we can continue to offer more services to the community, the CEDASS team is very grateful for all that have donated to the medical clinic. We greatly thank you, as does the community.

As per the school, it is bursting at the seams with many children very eager to learn. This is a great indicator of upcoming expansions that we may be able to introduce. One day we hope to introduce daily feedings for the children, the building of a secondary school, a library and much, much more. As of right now, we are tremendously happy with the “keep the girls in school” program, due to the fact that in 2019 no older girls dropped out. This is an incredible accomplishment that wouldn’t be obtainable without the support from everyone around the world so, thank you, thank you very much. Our greatest appreciation goes to all that have helped to make this project an ongoing success.

We also have another section of good news; the clean water project is nearing the kick-off of phase one. The response to this project has been incredible, thank you to all who donated and shared this project with many people from around the world. Collectively, we have raised $16,200 so far through our GoFundMe campaign and through private donations. Because of all the support, we will soon be able to start bringing clean water into the villages and the school. This will make a tremendous difference in the lives of so many people, we cannot describe the level of joy it brings us to hear that this project will shortly be on its way. Phase one of this project will consist of planning the exact route of the pipe, and were the fill up stations will be located. As well, it will consist of ordering the pipe and having it delivered to the farm, excavating the line, and installation of the pipe. We are still a ways to go yet, but the project is in motion and has life thanks to all of the support. Thank you for this.

If you are interested to hear more about what is happening here in South Sudan please continue to check back for our monthly blog as this is where you will find all the details. Alternatively, if you wish to know more than you can find, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and one of our board members will be happy to connect with you.

God bless
